On October 12, 2009, Abel Lopez was approached by a man, whom Lopez later identified as petitioner, after he had cashed his check. Petitioner told Lopez that he was in petitioners territory and demanded Lopezs money (Pet. Brief 2). Officers Joseph Cirrito and Kelly Clark drove to a nearby alley. As the officers stood in the alley, two men walked by. One of them, who appeared frightened, told the officers, the guy is in the apartmen t. After walking away quickly, the man returned and said, Hes in there. Hes in the apartment. Officers Cirrito and Clark then saw a man run across the alley and enter the house identified by the man (U.S. Brief 2). Officer Cirrito heard sounds of screaming and fighting from the apartment building into which the suspect had run. After an additional officer arrived, the two main officers on the scene went to knock on the door from where the screaming came and Ms. Roxanne Rojas, who was holding a baby, opened the door. Cirrito asked Rojas to step outside so that he could conduct a sweep of the apartment. The turning point had been when petitioner came to the door. She told me some of her thoughts and things she didn’t want repeated and done to me. As she looked down she said, â€Å"Don’t believe anything they say, I may have made a few mistakes in my life.† She looked at me and I saw a tear flow down her cheek. Let's first take a look at the three most common guidelines around when to ask for letters. 1. Ask in the Spring of Junior Year Generally, schools with strong college counseling departments have their students ask for letters in the spring of junior year, usually by April or May. This system tends to be part of the school’s culture, so teachers, mainly th grade teachers, expect to get requests then. Asking later is seen as inappropriate and last minute. 2. Ask Within a Month of Your Deadlines Other schools take a more hands off approach and tell students to ask anytime up to three or four weeks before their deadlines. Larger public schools often use this approach, where students are given more independence and a longertime window in which to make their requests. Some students still may ask in junior year or email their teachers over the summer with a promise to follow up with information in the fall. 3. Submit a List of Names to Your Counselor A third, less common system used by a few schools involves some chance. In this documentary (â€Å"Obsession: Radical Islam’s†), Islam is described as a threat to the Western culture. The documentary holds one of the most fundamental tene ts of Islam, called as â€Å"Jihad† as the root cause of terrorism in the world. Jihad is one of the most commonly misunderstood and misinterpreted tenets of Islam in the West. Because of the way it has been portrayed in the media, many people particularly non-Muslims think of Jihad as terrorism. Western media defines Jihad as radical Muslims’ declaration of war over the innocent non-Muslims. To give weight to image it wants to construct of Jihad, the documentary asserts that not only non-Muslims, but also many Muslims are also put to risk as a result of the spread of terrorism with Jihad because they are held accountable by the non-Muslims for the acts of the terrorist agencies. The documentary shows various scenes telecast on the TV channels mostly in Arabia in which Jihad has been defined as integrally associated with the spread of terrorism in the world (Munoz). For instance, a scholar in one of the clips shown in the documentary says that it is not a sin for a Mus lim to assassinate a non-Muslim because the latter is not more important than a cow. It is important to note that to understand Jihad in its true spirit, it is imperative that the history of Islam is read and Jihad is understood in context in which it has been made obligatory upon the followers of Islam. In order to understand the real meaning of Jihad, it must be noticed that most clips included in the documentary show misleading scholars that either are misinformed about the significance of Jihad in Islam or intentionally describe it wrongly so as to create confusions and controversies about Islam. Such scholars are funded by anti-Islamic agencies that want to deter non-Muslims from embracing Islam, considering the fact that Islam is the fastest spreading religion in the world today. The documentary also shares some right concepts about Jihad. This makes it a mix of correct and incorrect descriptions of Jihad. For instance, the documentary tells that Jihad’s literal meaning is â€Å"struggle† which is correct (Fatoohi). â€Å"In Qur'an it is not jihad but values like justice, compassion and forgiveness are more prominent. Scott Eaton The artist of this paper's five pieces of work are created and conceptualized by Scott Eaton. He is an artist and designer from the I-J and uses traditional art techniques with digital tools. What makes his work so fascinating is his knowledge of anatomy and clean use and mastery of the media. This piece is gorgeous and for it being a digital sculpt, you could hardly tell. The texturing is almost like real clay mimicking skin! It is to be acknowledged that this piece was created and rendered in only 2 days. â€Å"The digital sculpture was executed to a very tight schedule, going from start to final rendered image in two days! (Eaton ). – Something to note is that in digital media there is no gravity or real light, meaning he created his own glass, lit it himself and made the glass reflective. This was a speculative piece for the most recent Pirates movie during the preproduction phase of development. Work like this is great for establishing a baseline of what a fi lm or game will look like. There are hundreds of people which work on huge productions now a days and they need to find ways of keeping everyone's mind in the same kind of groove, making this a fine example of that taking place.The second piece is named female figure study IV, I love the neutral heavy color alter. With the presence off bit of yellow and a dark shade of blue all under this brownish grunge the piece gets a very earthy look to it. While squinting you can see that the silhouette is successful as well as the proportions and gesture is on point. All the shadows and highlights are in the right place and the flesh would feel real. The weight of the breasts and the soft dangle of the hair makes the piece soft and sensual.Take a look at the midsection right under the (stage)right arm, the shadow shows careful observation and great knowledge of how light works. It is safe to live that Scott Eaton is a consultant on anatomy and teaches advanced classes online. If you want to kn ow your figure you got to know Scott Eaton. If you still aren't impressed take a look at some of these studies he has made. The accuracy of each muscle and how the skin behaves over each muscle is truly a marvel. The man has clearly been practicing and has studied his anatomy. Scott Eaton attended Princeton University as an undergraduate majoring in both engineering and art. These two majors make a fine mix of artist and designer and later got his masters at MIT Media Lab. He would later continue his art studies at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. † (Eaton 1). His work shows his Italian influence. The figures he sculpts carry have a classical renaissance feel to them. As you can see in the in the photo above the man has a great understanding of anatomy as well as has a very well tuned process.Process and evidence of process is just as important as your final piece. This is simply because as an artist you are being hired for a skill for which you will be asked us e. Many people can make an amazing sculpture with time and patience, but what really sells is your ability to create and rate quickly and consistently with great results. Showing process whether it be on a blob or document will give everyone a peak into your work ethic and efficiency. He is described as being ugly but Zeus arranged is marriage with Aphrodite who is the goddess of love, pleasure, and beauty.DRAMA, the poor guy had no chance and she would run off with different gods leaving him lonely and enraged. This sculpted shows great emotion and mood. A workers body with strong hands and a worn face. The details in the face are believable and the â€Å"meat† around the arms have weight and almost reveal a saggy inflexed arm which is impeccable observation. There he spent about two years exploring and moving north. Until 1912, when he moved back to the United States, he returned to politics. He wanted to run for a re-election. He was aware once again that he might have a third term in the White House. A few months later in October, Roosevelt was preparing for a speech in Milwaukee; he was shot once in the chest. This didn’t kill teddy, just injured. The bullet was slowed down when it passed his thick speech that he kept in his breast pocket. After this Teddy lost his motivation and didn’t win the election. Then he finally retired for a second and final time. During his ‘second’ retirement, he turned his attention to making newspapers, magazine articles, and several books.
